The vehicle chassis is subjected to the greatest loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight when cornering quickly, braking hard or accelerating.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause forces on one side of the vehicle to be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes greater chassis flex or body deformation, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps further connect the suspension mounting points and reduce unwanted body flex.
