The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly true due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the rear section of the body. It has 4 mounting points and is intended for the Toyota Fortuner II (AN150) with 2.4D, 2.7 or 2.8D engines and 4WD.
