The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stresses while driving. This is mainly caused by the transfer of bodyweight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer while cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes considerable chassis flex or deformation and torsional twisting of the bodywork, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the vehicle chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps further stiffen the lower part of the chassis and limit its twisting.
