The vehicle body or chassis is subjected to high loads during fast driving, heavy braking and acceleration. When cornering quickly, the weight of the body is transferred between the wheels, which can cause the chassis to bend and twist.
In certain cases, the force on one side of the vehicle when cornering can be up to three times greater than on the other. This results in greater body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body and improve the vehicle’s responsiveness.
