The vehicle chassis is subjected to considerable loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during rapid cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than on the other side. This causes the bodywork to twist and bend, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness and improve vehicle response.
