The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, hard braking or hard acceleration.
When weight is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, deformation and torsional body twisting, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to reduce these deformations and improve body rigidity. It attaches to two mounting points.
Suitable for: VW Golf IV (1J).
