The vehicle chassis is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can create forces up to 3 times greater than on the other side. This causes greater bending, twisting and deformation of the chassis, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis reinforcement helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
