The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. During fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration, the transfer of mass through the body has a significant effect on these loads.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer when driving through corners. The Ultra Racing rear upper strut brace helps stiffen the body around the rear strut towers.
