The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads when driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. The result is greater chassis loads, body flex and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing while driving through bends can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear strut brace helps increase body stiffness around the upper mounting points of the rear suspension.
