The vehicle body is exposed to considerable loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to bear up to three times more force than the other side. This causes the body to bend and twist, which can consequently lead to the tyres losing grip.
Body twisting and deformation while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear strut brace helps connect the mounting points and reduce undesirable body movement.
