At high speeds, the vehicle body is subjected to significant loads, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more load than the other. This causes body flex and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex when driving through corners can affect vehicle handling and cause understeer and oversteer. The rear strut brace connects the suspension mounting points and helps to further stiffen the rear section of the bodywork.
