A car’s chassis is the part exposed to the greatest loads while driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This results in significant deformation and flexing of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing rear 2-point strut brace additionally connects the mounting points and helps increase the rigidity of the rear section of the body.
