The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more heavily than the other. This causes significant twisting and deformation of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace helps connect the mounting points in the rear section of the body, thereby reducing bending and twisting during dynamic driving.
- Design: rear strut brace (strut bar)
- Number of mounting points: 4
Suitable for: Mitsubishi Lancer VIII (CY/A).
