The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when driving through corners can result in poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The rear strut brace helps increase body stiffness around the rear damper mounting points.
