The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant body deformation and twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Body deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace connects the upper mounting points of the rear suspension and helps reduce body twisting during dynamic driving.
