The vehicle body is subjected to heavy loads during fast driving, hard braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When cornering quickly, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the body to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip. Unwanted chassis flex can also affect handling and cause understeer and oversteer.
The rear strut bar increases the rigidity of the rear section of the body and helps limit its flex during dynamic driving.
