The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during sporty driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear strut brace connects the mounting points at the rear of the body and is designed to increase chassis stiffness.
