The car’s chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This results in greater stress on the chassis, bending and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing rear strut brace (strut bar) is designed to reduce these effects by increasing body rigidity around the mounting points.
