The vehicle body is subjected to considerable loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in body twist and chassis flex, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twist and deformation when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear strut brace helps connect the suspension mounting points and reduces unwanted body twist.
