The Ultra Racing rear torsion bar is designed to reinforce the chassis of Toyota Alphard and Toyota Vellfire (AH20) vehicles with a 2.4 or 3.5 engine and four-wheel drive. By reducing body twisting, its construction helps provide more predictable vehicle behaviour through corners, under hard braking and during acceleration.
During dynamic driving, the chassis is subjected to high loads caused by the transfer of body weight. When cornering quickly, one side of the vehicle can experience up to three times more force than the other, causing the chassis to bend and twist and consequently reducing tyre grip.
Excessive chassis twisting can affect vehicle handling and cause undesirable characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The reinforcement helps limit body deformation and improve stability during dynamic driving.
