The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is mainly caused by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant bending, deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear upper strut brace additionally connects the mounting points and helps reinforce the body.
