The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant body flexing and bending.
Body flexing and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear upper strut brace helps increase body rigidity around the mounting area.
