The vehicle body is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is especially evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. The result is high loads and body flex, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Body flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear upper strut brace helps increase body rigidity in the mounting area.
