The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving, mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
