The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater body twisting and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Body deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The rear upper strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the rear suspension and helps reduce undesirable body movement.
