The car body is subjected to heavy loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the body to flex and consequently reduce tyre grip.
Chassis flex when driving through corners can affect vehicle handling and cause undesirable characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear upper strut brace helps connect the upper mounts of the rear suspension and limit such deformation.
