ACL Race main bearings are trimetal engine bearings developed for demanding higher-RPM conditions. The combination of design, metallurgy and engineering improves fatigue resistance and bearing retention in the housing.
The main bearing set uses increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist in forming a hydrodynamic oil film. 3/4 grooves optimize the bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings.
- Trimetal construction with a high-strength overlay plate of reduced thickness
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention in the housing
- Flash plating eliminated from the back for improved heat transfer and grip in the housing
- Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion and assist hydrodynamic oil-film formation
- 3/4 grooves to optimize load-carrying surface area and oil flow
- Tight, consistent wall tolerances and enlarged ID chamfers where required
Suitable for: Ford Falcon VI (BA) / VI (BF) / VIII (FG).
Engines: Unspecified (ALL). Please check your vehicle’s engine code (registration document or VIN) before ordering; if in doubt, contact us and we will check for you.
Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
