ACL Race rod bearings for BMW S62 are trimetal engine bearings designed for higher RPM conditions. Their combination of design, metallurgy and engineering supports dependable engine operation.
Increased eccentricity helps compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assists in forming hydrodynamic oil films. The set is intended for ACL Race Series con rod bearings.
- High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties
- Hardened steel backs for improved support of the bearing lining and bearing retention in the housing
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention
- Eliminated flash plating on the back for improved heat transfer and grip between the bearings and housing
- Tight, consistent wall tolerances to help maintain consistent clearances
- Enlarged ID chamfers where required for large fillet radii on performance crankshafts
Suitable for: BMW 5 IV (E39).
Engines: S62 (S62B50). Please check your vehicle’s engine code (registration document or VIN) before ordering; if in doubt, contact us and we will check for you.
Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
