The CTS Turbo 3-inch turbo-back exhaust system for the Golf R MK6 is hand TIG-welded from high-quality T304 stainless steel. The system is designed for everyday road use and more demanding conditions with a large turbocharger. Compared with 2.5″ and 2.75″ exhaust systems for the MK6 R20 2.0T, its 3-inch design allows better exhaust gas flow and is suitable for vehicles with ambitious performance goals.
The downpipe is fully TIG-welded and made from seamless 3″-diameter T304 stainless steel. Stainless steel clamps are included. The larger pipe diameter allows exhaust gases from the turbocharger and wastegate to exit with less turbulence, contributing to faster turbocharger spool-up and greater power and torque throughout the rev range. The system replaces the factory downpipe. As the Golf R is factory-fitted with a high-performance K04 turbocharger, upgrading the downpipe is particularly effective.
