Forge Motorsport adjustable turbocharger actuator for Audi A4 B5/B6/B7, Škoda Superb I and VW Passat B5 1.8T

The actuator is designed for vehicles with a longitudinally mounted 1.8T engine, where the crankshaft is oriented longitudinally in relation to the body. It is used for more precise adjustment and control of turbocharger boost pressure.

Forge Motorsport has developed a two-piece replacement actuator made from 6026 aluminium. The design is tailored to the specific vehicle and turbocharger and allows the spring to be selected according to the vehicle’s requirements. A diaphragm design is fitted as standard, while a piston-sealed version is also available.

Spring adjustment

The stated spring pressure values represent the minimum regulated values. The actuator is equipped as standard with a spring with a green marking. For the FMPACTUN spring adjustment kit, Type 2, 049 diaphragm design must be selected.

The actuator allows more precise adjustment of the required boost pressure, which can improve response and control. The standard spring is suitable for factory or slightly higher boost pressure levels. A stronger spring can be used for vehicles with higher settings.

On older turbocharged engines without ECU or solenoid valve control, the spring value must be treated as a mechanical setting. On modern engines with ECU or solenoid valve control, the mechanical spring value does not necessarily correspond directly to the target boost pressure. When selecting the spring, consider the vehicle specification and the planned level of modification.

The diaphragm-sealed internals are the standard choice, while piston sealing provides comparable performance and less maintenance thanks to the more durable piston design.

All actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.
