Forge Motorsport adjustable turbocharger actuator for Saab 9-5 I/9-3 I

Forge Motorsport adjustable turbocharger actuator for Saab 9-5 2.3T models made between 2000 and 2005, and Saab 9-3 Viggen models made between 1998 and 2002. It also fits the Saab 9-5 Aero version from 2000–2002.

The actuator is made from 6026-grade aluminium and designed as a two-piece unit for servicing and maintenance. The rod length can be adjusted for the specific application. Laser-cut stainless steel brackets provide a fit similar to the original installation.

Adjustment and operation

The Forge Motorsport adjustable actuator enables precise adjustment and control of boost pressure, which can improve turbocharger response and control. A spring suitable for factory boost pressure or slightly higher pressure is fitted as standard. A stronger spring can be used on request for vehicles with modifications.

The standard version has a diaphragm-sealed interior, while a piston-sealed version is also available. The piston version provides comparable operation and requires less maintenance due to the durable piston seal construction.

All actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.

Important: the spring pressure values listed for the individual colour markings apply only to the mechanical part of the operation. This is particularly important for older turbocharged engines that are not controlled via the ECU or a solenoid valve.

On modern engines with control via the ECU or a solenoid valve, the mechanical spring specification does not necessarily need to match the target boost pressure. When selecting the correct spring, consider the specific model and planned level of modification.

The actuator is equipped with the standard spring as supplied. To use the FMPACTUN spring adjustment kit, the Diaphragm Type 2, 049 option must be selected. The designation for the T2 spring series is FMAS049.
