Adjustable turbocharger actuator for Subaru Impreza fitted with an IHI VF48 turbocharger.
The actuator enables more precise adjustment and control of boost pressure, which can improve turbocharger response and boost pressure control. It is supplied as standard with a spring suitable for standard or slightly higher factory boost pressure. A stronger spring is also available for vehicles with more extensive modifications.

The default internal design of this actuator is sealed with a diaphragm, while a piston version is also available. The piston version offers comparable performance and less maintenance thanks to its wear-resistant piston design.
The kit includes a standard spring. To use the kit with the FMPACTUN spring adjustment kit, the Diaphragm Type 2, 049 version must be selected.
The actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.
The stated spring pressures according to the colour markings apply only to the mechanical aspect and are primarily relevant to older turbocharged engines, where boost pressure is not controlled by the ECU and solenoid valve.
On modern engines with ECU or solenoid valve control, the target boost pressure does not necessarily match the stated mechanical spring value. The spring must therefore be selected according to the specific model and planned level of modification.

The actuator is intended to enable more precise adjustment of turbocharger operation, but boost pressure must always remain within the capabilities of the engine management system and other connected components.
