The actuator is supplied as standard with a spring suitable for standard or slightly higher boost pressure. For modified vehicles, a stronger spring can be fitted on request when higher boost pressure is required.
The diaphragm-sealed interior is the standard configuration, while a piston-sealed interior is also available. The piston version offers comparable performance and requires less maintenance thanks to the wear-resistant piston seal construction.
The actuator is designed to increase or more precisely regulate the boost pressure of the turbocharging system. The actual adjustment depends on the capabilities of the engine management system, whether it is a factory-fitted or aftermarket system.
The pressure values listed for the individual spring colour markings refer only to the mechanical aspect and apply primarily to older turbocharged engines without electronic or electromagnetic control. On modern engines controlled via the ECU or an electromagnetic valve, the target boost pressure does not necessarily correspond one-to-one with the mechanical spring specification. When selecting a spring for a specific vehicle and planned level of modification, consult a qualified engine tuning specialist.
The actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.
