Forge Motorsport PolarCooler charge cooler radiator for Audi RS6/RS7 C7

Forge Motorsport PolarCooler is the first additional cooling system for Audi RS6 and RS7 vehicles on the C7 platform.

Modern engine control unit modifications increase the loads on high-performance engines. Under certain conditions, the charge air may not be cooled sufficiently, affecting engine efficiency and potentially causing a loss of power.

Following extensive road and dynamometer testing, and cooperation with three different radiator core manufacturers, PolarCooler was developed as an advanced solution for front-mounted water cooling.

Forge PolarCooler system features

• More than 100% greater volume, using a high-performance radiator core with 22 fpi (fins per inch) for more efficient cooling.
• PolarCooler retains the original charge cooler, through which the coolant flows into the additional front-mounted radiator.
• The design prevents the condenser from obstructing the system’s efficiency and operation. The additional radiator is not mounted directly in front of the coolant radiator, but is positioned last in the sequence.
• The special design enabled a 20 °C (68 °F) reduction in intake air temperature over three consecutive runs on the dynamometer.
• The standard bleed point on the original radiator remains in use.
• PolarCooler does not require an additional expansion tank, as the original system uses a one-way valve that opens when the fluid level drops and allows fluid to enter, for example due to evaporation.
• All supplied Forge coolant hoses have an inner lining made from modified silicone, known as fluorosilicone.
• The lining allows the hoses to be used with modern long-life coolants, coolants based on organic acid technology (O.A.T.) and oil mist.
• The hose construction is designed to exceed the performance of the original hoses while improving the technical and visual appearance of the engine bay.
• The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware, a modified original crossmember, Forge silicone hoses and a black anti-corrosion powder coating on the handmade radiator end tanks and crossmember.
