Replacement turbocharger actuator for Ford Focus ST250.

Forge Motorsport has developed a two-piece replacement aluminium actuator with a machined housing, allowing more precise adjustment and better boost pressure control. The actuator is purpose-built for the vehicle and turbocharger.

Spring adjustment

The actuator is supplied with a standard spring as standard. The spring is selected for standard or slightly higher boost pressure. For modified vehicles and higher boost pressure, a stronger spring can be used on request.

The actuator allows more precise adjustment and control of boost pressure, which can improve turbocharger response and operation control. Actual compatibility and the achievable adjustment depend on the engine management system and other vehicle components.

The default version uses sealed diaphragm internal components. A version with sealed piston internal components is also available, providing equivalent operation and less maintenance thanks to the piston’s more durable construction.

The actuator is supplied with a spring for the Ford Focus ST250 as standard. For the FMPACTUN spring adjustment kit, select the Diaphragm Type 2, 049 version.

All actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.

The stated spring pressures according to the colour markings apply only to the mechanical part and are directly applicable mainly to older turbo engines without control via the ECU or solenoid valve. On modern engines with ECU or solenoid valve control, the mechanical spring specification may not correspond to the target boost pressure on a 1:1 basis.

For T2 series springs (FMAS049), the specific vehicle version and planned level of modification must be considered when selecting the spring.
