Racingline intake system for VW Golf V/VI 1.4 TSI and Scirocco III

The Racingline intake system replaces the restrictive factory airbox and supplies the engine with cooler, denser air. The result is improved throttle response, smoother power delivery and a more pronounced intake sound.

The standard intake system on these 1.4 TSI engines is a well-known bottleneck, especially after software optimisation or the installation of supporting modifications. The Racingline system uses a large-diameter, smooth-flow pipe that draws air from outside the engine bay. This helps reduce intake air temperatures and allows the engine to operate more efficiently.

TriFoam® filtration

At the heart of the system is the Racingline TriFoam® filter, made from a three-layer laminate of open-cell polyurethane foam. It uses the same type of filter medium as some Formula 1 engines, combining effective filtration with low airflow restriction. Each filter is handmade in the United Kingdom.

The filter is fully washable and reusable. Under normal road use, it should be cleaned and re-oiled approximately every 20,000 miles (30,000 km), so it is designed as a component for the vehicle’s entire service life.
