The vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is caused by the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in high loads, bending and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while driving through a corner can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This 2-point mid lower brace is designed to provide additional reinforcement for the chassis in the centre section of the vehicle.
