The vehicle body is subjected to significant loads when driving quickly through corners, braking hard or accelerating due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This can cause the body to twist and deform, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Body flexing while cornering can lead to undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The C-pillar brace helps increase the torsional rigidity of the body.
