The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This leads to significant bending, deformation and twisting of the chassis, which can consequently cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The chassis brace is designed to reduce these effects and improve body rigidity.
