The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as twisting and deformation of the bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The chassis brace helps reduce unwanted bodywork twisting and improve the vehicle’s rigidity during dynamic driving.
