The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This results in significant chassis twisting and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. Ultra Racing fender bars are designed to reduce this deformation and improve body rigidity.
