The vehicle body is heavily loaded during dynamic driving, mainly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can lead to significant body flex and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The fender brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
