When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes considerable chassis twisting or body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Body deformation and chassis twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
