The vehicle chassis is exposed to heavy loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When driving through corners, the transfer of weight can also cause forces on one side of the vehicle to be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the chassis or body to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis bending and twisting when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace is designed to increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
