The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant chassis or body flex and twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the front lower section of the chassis. It attaches at 4 mounting points.
