The vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s mass is transferred during high-speed cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded with up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater chassis flex, as well as body deformation and torsional movement, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace helps reduce unwanted chassis movement and improve the rigidity of the front lower section of the body.
