The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. The result is significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This front lower brace helps further connect the chassis mounting points and limit its twisting.
