The vehicle chassis is exposed to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the vehicle and limit its flex.
- Mounts to the front lower section of the chassis
- 2 mounting points
Suitable for: Ford Focus III (DYB).
