The vehicle chassis is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of body mass during rapid cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
In certain situations, the transfer of mass in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause considerable twisting and deformation of the chassis, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
