The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater chassis loads as well as twisting and deformation of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area of the body.
